What is G dimension ?

G dimension is the term used to define the distance from the end of LM guide rail to the center of the 1st mounting hole. When ordering an LM guide rail and/or assembly, a proper G dimension needs to specified for both ends of the rail. G is always on the Left side of the rail with the datum line away from you. g is the opposite side of the rail.

What is THK's order cancellation policy ?

THK's order cancellation policy is as follows:
Once issued, a purchase order may not be canceled by the customer due to costs already incurred by THK or the manufacturer up to that point including but not limited to order processing time, generation of manufacturing drawings, materials, machining, assembly, inspection, packaging, and shipping. The customer is obligated to pay all accrued costs of the system’s production as well as any inland/import freight charges whenever a purchasing cancellation request is declined by THK.

What is return policy ?

THK's return policy is as follows.

  1. Product returns to THK America, Inc. require prior authorization under the Returned Material Authorization (RMA) Policy. Product returns are accepted for quality issues, repairs, shipping errors, customer service issues and sales errors. Requests for product returns should be made within sixty (60) days of the original Invoice Date. Any requests made past sixty (60) days of the original Invoice Date will be reviewed by THK America, Inc. prior to granting authorization.
  2. Product return requests due to customer error will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis by THK America, Inc. THK America, Inc. reserves the right to charge a 20% or $150, whichever is larger, restocking fee. THK America, Inc. also reserves the right to reject product return requests.
  3. Approved Return Authorization forms will be faxed with an RMA Number, a shipping address, and further instruction pertaining to the product return.
  4. The material authorized for return should be delivered to the respective THK America, Inc. facility within thirty (30) days from the date the RMA Number is issued to the customer.
  5. Please enclose a copy of the Return Authorization form. The RMA Number must be clearly displayed on the exterior of the shipping container. Returned material without proper identification may be refused at the customer’s expense.
  6. Shipments should go prepaid unless approved collect by THK America, Inc. THK America, Inc. must specify carrier if shipped collect.
  7. Prior to credits being issued for returned materials, THK America, Inc. will perform a detailed product inspection. If there is any damage found on any product, the customer will be notified and may be liable for repair labor and associated parts costs to restore the returned product to an acceptable restocking condition.
  8. Returned materials for repair will be evaluated and customer will be advised of cost. At that time, an additional Purchase Order may be required for the repair labor and associated parts costs.

Who should I contact regarding a Failure Analysis request ? What information do I need to provide ?

Please contact your nearest sales office for assistance. A list of our sales office can be found in our website. We typically request information such as the part number, failure mode, pictures of the failed product, PO # you purchased the product under. In addition to these questions, it is also useful to know the following information:

  • How long was the product in use ?
  • What is the load applied to the product ?
  • What speed is it being run at ?
  • Is the application horizontal or vertical ?
  • What is the motor / controller combination ?
  • What type of environment is the product being used in ? (i.e. Cleanroom, abrasives used, dusty and dirty)

What kind of warranty does THK offer ?

THK offers a Limted Warranty on parts sold. THK's Limited Warranty policy states: THK CO. LTD., for itself and its related companies and subsidiaries warrants that all THK products sold will be free of defects in materials and workmaship for a period of twelve (12) months from date of delivery. The foregoing twelve (12) month warranty shall not be extended or changed by THK furnishing any replacements, additions, attacments, accessories or repairs to the product subsequent to the date of delivery or acceptance. The foregoing warranty is the sole and exclusive warranty of THK regarding the product.
